Ph.10 António Júlio Duarte is a journey through the photographer's worlds and reflects his constant wanderings through urban spaces. From Hong Kong to the USA, from Portugal to Japan, from Guinea-Bissau to Russia, from Cape Verde to Italy, to name just a few examples. Included here are several previously unpublished works by the artist presented distinctly in a chronological structure, in which the Duarte revisits some of the concepts and forms that characterize his work. Sofia Silva, in the previously unpublished essay published in the book entitled «The Theatre awakened by the imagination», states that «AJD's photography is not a game of geometries between the square and the circular; it is a photography of contact, a combat, which translates into raw and rigorous compositions».
