Soledades retraces four trips made to Andalusia, Spain.
“As I did with my last project in Cuba, I tend to take a look free from clichés and commonplaces. Always carried by the light, I approach my subjects without documentary or descriptive intention. This is how I began this journey with a first trip which took me for two weeks in the province of Almeria and more particularly in the Tabernas desert. Depopulated landscapes, arid lands, dusty skies, dead trees, a few furtive or indolent animals and surreal and strange presences. This is what the images in this first part are full of. Other trips followed in pursuit of other landscapes, emotions and the memory of places, their inhabitants and the search, always, for this light so important to me... ” Gilles Roudière
